    why should the Palestinians accept defeat? it seems like it's a live issue as long as they want to make one of it, and the idea that they should just suck it up and get on with things is the conclusion to an argument, not its premise.

    theres a stalemate, true, but the stalemate favours russia on balance, bc of troop numbers and shell supplies. at least, that's my understanding.

    is it really winning the ideological war? my impression is that most people treat Russia's position as highly motivated. the problem today is more that's it's winning the actual war (winning is an exaggeration maybe, but the trajectory favors russia)
