    Club Music in 2019

Well, the Berlin techno scene has made themselves that, in a way. Berghain, Hardwax record store. (Minimal)Techno. Has built a "Berlin Techno" Scene that is like a time capsule for the 30 or rather 40+ year olds. They will go on like this, relatively unchanged, for anpother two decades I...

    Club Music in 2019

And yes. smart phones are a big turn off. People taking selfies endlessly. The music + club experience can't be that good if you need to fiddel around your smart phone all the time.

    Club Music in 2019

Enjoying themselves doesn't mean making fools of themselves. Youth can get away with certain behavious bc people say -well, they'r young - but when some 40something acts like it, it's a bit sad and off-putting tbh.

    Club Music in 2019

BTW, the thing that astonished me a lot regarding the EDM hype (from a few years back, mostly 2012) also was that many if not most of the main figures there were actually relatively old, Skrillex being the exception. David Guetta, Steve Aoki, that Dutch guy whos name I can't remember right now...

    Club Music in 2019

My birthdate is 3rd of November 1979 - Meaning I am 40 years old later this year. If I went to a club these days I might be considered as drug squad or whatever - I tend to avoid such potentially emberassing situations. In reality I was out clubbing the last time in 2008. It's not that I am...

    Thrive in '95 - Jungle's zenith

https://www.discogs.com/lists/JungleDnB-1996-04/419478 It turns up in my 1996 April list, so likelihood of a '96 release is very high

    GENESIS: The Dissensus Bible Group.

I doubt this, the translations were not forbidden, there are early translations into other languages like Gothic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_Bible Even the Latin translation itself was a bit controversial, since the original language of thw Old Testament was hebrew - and in the...

    Thrive in '95 - Jungle's zenith

https://www.discogs.com/lists/JungleDnB-1995-02/310024 That's my list for February 1995 Jungle I curated on discogs. I did those lists using old playlists from radio shows and old music mag record reviews to re-create a plausible month-per-month release list. Although only of releases I...

Another 90s Hype Thread - Acid Jazz + Gilles Peterson

This installment of my 90s hype threads will possibly be the least attractive - yet it gotta be done Acid Jazz - I hardly remember much of the actual music, however I do remember several articles in the music mags I used to read back then as a teenager, so I guess it had some importance. Brand...

    The tyranny of 130

I am 39 and I haven't been to clubs let alone raves since ten years. Actually, I got the impression a lot of kids today DON'T go out to clubs as "we" did. Also, statistics for music festivals kinda confirms this, I only got numbers for Germany, but it says ca 50% of festival goers are between 35...

Catholicism most cerainly does NOT. Quite the contrary. Plus: there are countless references to wine in the Bible.

    Thrive in '95 - Jungle's zenith

Breakbeats got pushed aside in 97, 96 was still very breaks oriented, even within Techstep you'd have heavy breaks usually. Thing is, even in 97, or later you'd have lots of breaks still in Junlge or DnB as it was called back then more and more, but only on relative fringe labes like...

    Thrive in '95 - Jungle's zenith

Late 95 also saw the comeback of Jonny L - he released a four track EP on XL of pure Jungle after over 2 years of silence (more or less, discogs shows some house release from 93) after the smeinal "Hurt You So"
