    "Perma-crisis", really?

It is a common liberal identification idiom isn't it, this sighing casual-cynical reference to a generally monstrous state of things. 'How can you go around enjoying life when the world is burning around you?' The interesting thing about this perhaps being that what is being performed is...

    Avatar: Some Personal Comments

thought it was great, in the cinema i could feel the dormant fascia reconnecting, new muscle fibers astir beneath my skin, an atavistic call to elagant body action. went to the public swimming pool next day and swirled around extravagantly.

It has a very jazzy diction which makes me feel slightly uncomfortable coming from Luka. The viewpoint has changed hasn't it? The poet is no longer bogged down in the bowels of modernity but frollicking around it.

    what the kids are into

i get the feeling a lot of alternative music today is inherently depressive. like it's been burned into people's brains that this is what alternative culture is about: being non-popular, weird, socially anxious, depressed, music as a way to articulate and find solace in this defining cultural...

Thomas Bernhard annoys me. Thomas Mann as well. To my great dismay I'm increasingly finding my taste aligning with the American canon.

    what are you reading now?

Not esoteric in that sense. I find his unindulgence a posture. For me these images of his are deployed within an annoying assumption of literary virtue. That's what I find academic. This sense that things are there to be registered within a discourse that privileges them. It's the same...

    what are you reading now?

Couldn't finish Rings of Saturn not because it was boring but because of this sense you got of him savouring his own boringness as implied esoteric literary value. The abject academicness of it. Really annoyed me that book.
