U2 Album Discography Available for Free Via Myspace

god yes indeed, yes INDEED. in fact, i think it was bone-on and the chaps that actually talked Simple Minds into being shite right after New Gold Dream so another gong to add to the many. i can say with pride that i always HATED u2. not one damn thing ever appealed to me about them except the...

    Reynolds hardcore continuum event

slight derailment but i did a whole radio show with simon which went out last saturday. You can download it here. It was about musique concrete and early electronics with a bit of totally wired and then i threw a load of wonky in underneath :D

    Reynolds on the Radio

whilst the king of the nuum was running around blighty, he guested on my show exotic pylon and this will be broadcast saturday 9.30pm Resonance FM. Dodging wonky (well, maybe) we played and discussed musique concrete obscurities and did some post-punk. It would be delightful for y'all to...

    Throwing Muses

ahhhh that first album is just so out there- Hersh's voice and lyrics just terrifying and devestating original and unique. Real Ramona was incredible too and i enjoyed her first solo album. i totally lost touch after that- blame it on the pills, strangers and shiny lights :D

    Notorious B.I.G As Role Model?

The mainstream music press consists of twatty topshop haircut indie kids or drunken old bastards. Sack the lot of them without hesitation. In their place, hire people who like to dance and can remember enough to write afterwards (not during for fucks sake). Main criteria: an absolute loathing...

    Notorious B.I.G As Role Model?

YES! That is why when Q and Mojo are forced to acknowledge black musicians, Marvin Gaye will always be in there for What's Going On and why I Want You is never spoken about anywhere and is about the most sublime and strange LP that he ever made. The middle brow magazines of the world only equate...

    Notorious B.I.G As Role Model?

Fuck me, what a pile of crap. Mind you, he namechecks Stanley Crouch- wasn't it Crouch who freaked out when Miles Davis discovered that you could plug things in? Loser. And what's all this urbane elegant shit about Obama too- were people expecting him to turn up in a fucking nappy or something...

    Reynolds hardcore continuum event

i remember how hilariously late the mainstream music press came to rave/ jungle (aside from Reynolds and barely anybody else) because the whole idea of understanding music through actual dancefloor participation rather than pub-bound headphone silliness was entirely anathema. the dismissal of...

    depraved, degenerate and disgusting love

my show on resonance this week, jonny mugwump & the exotic pylon (www.exoticpylon.com) is on valentines day so i'm taking requests for songs of skewed love. Anything will do, even instrumentals as long as they somehow tie to the theme, as long as they are actually legally broadcastable. write...

    John Martyn R.I.P.

as above= Solid Air from 1972, Inside Out from 1973(?) and One World from 1977. Small Hours from One World is the absolute peak of his career- gentle drum machine, geeese, really trippy fragile guitar and voice as texture. 8 of the most sublime minutes you could imagine.

    John Martyn R.I.P.

just tragic tragic news- even when the music got lost in an over-ambient wash, that voice is something off the planet. those who don't- know Solid Air, Inside Out and One World are such beautiful and fertile mutations of folk with psychedelia, free jazz, dub, everything... extraordinairy. too...
