Any of the glitch heads heard of this guy? I've been listening to his album Manchurian Candy, and it has comfortably moved itself from really impressive to essential listening. Its this really listenable mix of 8-bit synths, glitchy beats, and some kind of J-Pop sensibility. Think something...

    Great 2 Step?

I also had problems with the Zip I know uploading a compressed file to an FTP can be a little touchy sometimes. How about using Rapidshare? Its free, and pretty fast, and doesn't wear out after 25 downloads. Just an idea.

Can UK Hip Hop/Grime Blow Up In The States?

See its thinking like that makes me not want to ever listen to Mos Def ever again. And Mos Def got me into rap.

    Wanted : Grime Crew !!!

Alright, I've got an Mp3 of your track S Particle. I used to have a couple of the other ones, so if you want to do a yousendit or something let me know. I've got some shit to sort out, got to get my mic back from a hippie I loaned it too. But after that I've got at least 64 quality...

Can I third the request for Paul's mix. I downloaded it and enjoyed it, but unfortunately had a complete computer meltdown shortly afterwards. Would be much appreciated!

    Wanted : Grime Crew !!!

How about an American rapper with a heavy grime and dancehall influence? I'm young, and nobodies heard of me, but I already know some of your beats pretty well. And I'm huge into dubstep. Send me an email if you're interested, I've got my own studio (bedroom) so I could send you some wavs...

questions you are dying to ask but are too scared to b/c of music nerd cred?

I for one don't find Logan's beliefs offensive, he's entitled to them and seems willing to discuss them in a rational way. I think that much of popular backlash in the West against homosexuals can be attributed to well meaning people enforcing their opinions in academia and in the media...

    The GAY rapper/HIPHOP question

I was wondering when we were going to get around to this. The points about prison culture were spot on, and I think you have to view this whole thing in terms of power. I find so much of the queer rights movement just completely blind to many social and economic factors, and then you have...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

According to some on the RWD forum, Roll Deep were never signed to begin with. They had a licensing deal for an album and a couple of singles, but no permanent contract. I guess Wiley wants to keep some kind of publishing control over his music.

Ice Cube and stone-cold classic beats.

Kool G Rap and DJ Polo They are the blueprint for everything afterwards. The two albums I would recommend would be Wanted: Dead or Alive and Live and Let Die. DJ Polo made some truly sick beats, check out the song Rikers Island. Samples Kraftwerk in a way that reminds of grime, fifteen odd...

    exclusive skream interview and mix

I think its really interesting how all the post jungle/ post garage scenes tend to trade their musical make up back and forth. I didn't get into dubstep until it started incorporating more melodic elements ie synths with chord changes. Early Dubstep of the Mark One variety just bored me...

What was the last musical moment that gave you a physical rush....

The last rush I've had was from a track by Virgo called Monster. Its the first dub on the Kode 9 Babel mix up on his site. Kind of like Imp Batch it samples some orchestral music, Peter and the Wolf I think. Fuckin killer tune, I've been rhyming over it for a couple of weeks now I...

    Pimp Your Beats

This is the thread for members showing off their own productions I know Appleblim is a serious producer/dj , and I'm sure half the people here use some musical equipment or software. This is the thread where we post songs and then ruthlessly rip them to shreds. Or constructive criticism...

    Undie HipHop

More than anything He reminds me of underground rock in america in the eighties. Not musically, just from the "influential for years" and "completely humbling" angles. He's not hiphop's Bob Dylan, he's Husker Du, or the Replacements. Nah he's the Minutemen
