    Reynolds on planet-mu

Its a rephlex sampler, I don't think anyone uses it as a serious genre - its one big piss take. I love Rewind, one of the few dance tunes to actually make me smile. I agree completely with Geks comments on the last two Autechre albums, I would love to hear another Confield from the duo. The...

Hands up if you don't 'get' Led Zep?

Before my time. My experience of Led Zep has been their entire catalog on loop as office background music for my boss. Gets a bit tired after the 20th loop. Dad rock.

Graphic Design - where should I start to learn?

Yeah totally. Anyone recommend some good books on the evolution of written language?

Graphic Design - where should I start to learn?

Composition, use of space, colour balance, typography, I suppose you can read about them but I would agree with getting stuck in and learn through doing. I hate to say it but natural talent goes a long way. I personally don't think that someone with no eye for any of the above can learn them...

1000 albums to hear before you die in The Guardian

Its just shits and giggles, don't take the internet so seriously.

Unified theory of everything that might actually work.

Exactly, he can accurately predict the properties of 20 as-yet-unknown elemental particles. If they show up in the LHC experiments, then it instantly justifies the theory. Of course, if they totally fail to appear, it means hes a loony, and we go back to the 'normal' ideas.

Unified theory of everything that might actually work.

Going by the little I know from hobby-reading and a pidgin understanding of the more scientific opinions, I think it can be summed up as "crazy... but by God, it might just work!" As soon as the LHC is online things will get really interesting. Assuming it isn't delayed even more...

    Burial "Untrue"

Its entirely up to the artist if their work is used on an advert. Do we think Burial would allow his music to be associated with the latest sports car? I hope not.

    What do you do?

I'm a graphic designer. The pay is nothing, I'm also currently writing on this forum to avoid finishing my Masters Degree final project, which is due in, in ... ooh 8 days. I'm in the shit.

admitting you were wrong: music you used to like and now hate

Oh yes, I really need to purge my collection of all Chemical Brother CDs soonish. I still adore Biosphere, its a shame to see him mentioned. Going back to Beck, his Sea Change album redeemed him for me.

    Worth dying for

I think I'm too much of a coward to actually stand up and defend to the death any of my beliefs. What do I feel strongly about? Disgust at organised religion perhaps? I think thats the only thing that really stirs me. Would I go to the grave standing against it? Depends how painful the death...

    Magazine Subscriptions

I subscribe to the Wire, subscription saves you a bit of money off the cover price, plus the CDs they release every now and then make it feel more worthwhile. I'm thinking about the National Geographic as another one. I used to read it as a kid when my parents had a massive shelf full of them...

    fighting

Doesn't anybody else worry about other people getting nasty when it comes to fighting? I don't mind the normal punching each other thing, like the party episode, upsetting though it can be... whats always made me think twice are the incidents I've witnessed over the years where things just...
