CRICKET!! breaking news, gossip, lies, whatever etc..

Anyone listening to TMS? I hate Michael Vaughan on there, he's obviously thinks he funny and a bit of legend but his bonhomie is annoying and his insights minimal.

Where should I eat in London?

It's dire! I've been on a groupon thing and it was really bad - slightly raw potatoes and main dishes that weren't like mains at all, just a few things chucked on top of each other. This may have been cos they were overwhelmed by groupon but it was a poor show either way.

    what are you reading now?

Oh my god! Why are so many sci fi covers so fucking terrible! My other half keeps looking at what I'm reading and giving me pitying looks cos there's so terrible 80s spaceship on the cover and I'm like, 'no it's an amazing honest'. The order ULG wrote them in is not the order the books are set...

    what are you reading now?

I just finished the Left Hand of Darkness and IMO Dispossessed is definitely better. Some of the same themes but more subtly developed etc. The arctic trek in LHOD was amazing though. Got 'The Word for World is Forest' in the post for next..!

It's nice yeah, not cheap tho. I had an excellent hare ragu there. Good for special occasion, lovely atmosphere in there, not too formal but still a bit classy.

    Iain Sinclair

I saw Chris Petit at a talk with IS and they were reminiscing/bitching about how they used to get commissioned to make docs by the BBC but it didn't happen any more. Not hugely interesting but ok. Then I watched Petit's film Radio On which I found extremely boring. Have you read Patrick...

Films You've Seen Recently and Don't Know WTF to think

I'm working my way through a Tarkovsky box set and filling the gaps on ones I haven't seen. There seems to be a reverse quality gradient with time IMO, so first two (Ivans Childhood and Andrei Rublev) are really good (not exactly fast paced but stunningly beautiful), next two are quite good...
