the inclusion of yo la tengo's "everyday" on fever ray's RA mix is pretty apt i think, from my favorite yo la tengo album (+ creepy weird cinematic cover art, maybe from a movie in the same canon as the "if i had a heart" video)...it's a total precursor to her album...drones, repetitive murky...

yeah that all really contributes to how much of a daydream the whole thing is there's various bits of menace from the obnoxious older lady and the guy being an illegal immigrant with a skin disease, but none of it seems to matter that much i haven't seen those new ones, definitely need to but...

blissfully yours is an alltime favorite...aside from plot and everything else, i will love it forever for how the opening credits come in 50 minutes through the movie to some hypnotic driving jam while they drive through super lush thai roads, blissful for sure

yeah the "tackiness" is what makes me dislike it...FUSE, star crackout, and zooooom are nice because they aren't really in tune with that kitsch. i think the main thing is that it rehashes 80s electro funk/boogie/whatever as jokey...which, come to think of it, it often is...i guess it is legit...

sooooo disappointing i LOVE "polkadot blues" but this is generally just...it sounds rushed and jokey and throwaway, to say the least

going to see the fever ray spectacle tomorrow...was a little iffy because i'm much more of a knife fan but i've barely seen any shows this year honestly i think the videos are the true genius part of the fever ray project...i wish someone would make "if i had a heart" into a feature film

meh...i get that if you're a nostalgic wu tang fan this one appeals because it's drawn along the typical wu tang lines (i see your point) and personally i feel pretty burnt out on wu tang so it took me awhile to even listen to it...but i don't think it's a bad album. i think it would be more...
