    the nuum back lash

I don't consider it to be completely irrelevent. Each 'continuum scene' (scenes that I would argue are, at least initially, centred around a multicultural London working class audience) has had a large social relation to the last one - by this I'm talking about the audience, and the fact that...

    Funky/London/UK House

That Supa D mix is fantastic - although I'm only talking about the second half as you recommended. Lots of dubs and dj tools - a great one is: Alex Wizz - Drummin (H2O Remix), real bassy tribal stuff. I'm definitely hearing this sound a lot right now, just out and about on the street, at clubs...

    African YouTube

That kwaito track is great. It kinda points to the idea that the London house stuff at the moment has a real massive African influence to it.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Ha! I ripped that Ruff Sqwad one with -t_m_s at the end. Was someone asking for the Christmas Day set on Rinse from 2005 when all of North London was on? If so I still have a wav on my HD which I can rip to mp3 if someone requests it.

    Funky/London/UK House

That's f***ing fantastic - there's not one bloke to be seen! Those beats just sound heavy. I was listening to Footloose's show on 1Xtra last night and there was a load of real hyper stuff at the beginning of the show, not limp sounding funky-house with rhodes keys and dull beats. I'm loving this...

    Funky/London/UK House

I really like Jellyjams' track "Make Me". I never really heard grime playing out of car stereos that much, apart from mine, but recently I've heard a lot of cars go by blasting those kinda soca-y but harsh sounding house beats alongside stabs of pure sine-wave sub-bass.

    Funky/London/UK House

That particular EZ intro was always one of my favourites - militant octave shift bassline.

    Newham Generals

It's a fantastic track. The tune should be obvious, but I didn't even think about it at first, just sounded like a real cool string line.

    Funky/London/UK House

The El-Tuff collabo was wicked, especially 'Flavour' and 'Cool Breeze'. Apple is a badman! Urban house is such a swag name: http://www.discogs.com/release/247255 I guess the whole London house thing has been brewing for ages. Passion FM changing from ukg to electro/minimal house...

    Burial "Untrue"

That part in the Cyclic Defrost interview where he's talking about the emotional effects of old hardcore/jungle tracks really struck a chord, especially about it seeming to feel like something much more than nostalgia. Actually, I think all of it struck a chord - tapes of lost tunes from...

    bassline house

All... so... weird... So it seems that Wideboys are big in this ting, I guess they're classified as 4x4? The 4x4 stuff is just fast ukg as far as I can tell, but looking at DJ Q's tracklisting you still have people like Sticky, MJ Cole and Karl Brown making it, as I guess they have been doing...

    Awesome Tapes From Africa

First saw this site this summer, absolutely fantastic! I think Woebot's been linked to him for a while already. My favourites at the moment are Alhaji K. Frimpong and Boubacar Traore.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Did you hear him the other night too? He was on Logan's show promoting his new grime track "Smoking Ban". He's also the inventor of Gullystep, which is the best name for a type of music I've ever heard, GULLYSTEPPAZ! From the freestyles he was doing I think he would sound wicked on a set with...

    Burial "Untrue"

'Archangel' and 'Etched Headplate' - sound like references to Metalheadz. 'Endorphin' - will it be the ghosted template of the groundbreaking track by Skycap of the same name?
