dan le sac VS scroobius pip "Thou Shalt always Kill"

I remember you saying you like hipsters to watch you DJ, so you can laugh at them. Does that not count as acting superior?

dan le sac VS scroobius pip "Thou Shalt always Kill"

Bloody hell. The song's not there to be taken seriously; doesn't the 'shall always kill' line at the end imply that? It's a million miles better than anything Just Jack/Jamie T/Kate Nash have ever done, it's not desperately striving for any sort of authenticity, and it's clearly a little bit...

Was that the one he played before Coki's 'Night'? Chef has been killing it tonight...

Dirty Canvas with Roll Deep (23/03/07)

I think Ruff Sqwad had problems getting in- at least that's what I was told.

    Yeah, reaction was massive.

    slix- down vol. 1

I love the way his jumper just said BOSS in massive letters. It was so blunt.

Dirty Canvas with Roll Deep (23/03/07)

Queue was not only massive, but had half the artists in it.. Ruff Sqwad were amazing. Roll Deep were good. After that, it was spoiled a bit by having a million MCs on stage; if it'd just been Plastician/Jammer/Bruza or something it would've been great.

Should I get tickets in advance for this, or will it be fine to pay on the door?

Top 50 Dance Albums of the Nineties?

Calm down. Unfinished Sympathy's rubbish anyway... ;)

Top 50 Dance Albums of the Nineties?

I can kind of see that with early Massive Attack, but come on, Mezzanine? There's a couple of songs that are a little coffee tablish, but then you've got stuff like 'Dissolved Girl' and the title track, which are way too pitch-shifting, unpredictable and downright scary for that description...

Top 50 Dance Albums of the Nineties?

Personally I think it's silly how much better Mezzanine is than Blue Lines, and how little it gets mentioned in these sorts of discussions...

    Sterns recommendations?

Hey Woebot, any chance of a link to where I could buy these? They sound great, but all I get through googling is old vinyl...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

See, I want to like Rules and Regulations; it's full of undisputably good songs, but it just doesn't excite me in the same way previous Roll Deep stuff does. And I think you just hit the nail on the head as to why. One of the things I love most about grime (and MCing in general, but there aren't...

Hip-Hop - breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Scrolling down the stuff you'd uploaded, I was really hoping you'd include this; it's a brilliant record that nobody ever seems to talk about. Dibbs is great live too.

    Deal or No Deal?

That young one on Mock The Week once pointed out how much Edmonds looks like a lizard, and I haven't been able to look at him the same way since.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

When I've had the chance I've been playing JME to people up here (Aberdeen) who were completely unfamiliar and uninterested with grime, and now they're always quoting his bars and asking me to play his stuff. Usually I'm the last person anyone asks to choose some music! ;) I'm slowly going to...
