    Joy Division

Ah, the old days... ;) I had a massive post punk revisiting binge a couple of years ago after discovering this site... http://fytini.com/filtig/ppodd_cake/index/home ...with a lot I knew, a lot I'd forgotten, and a lot I'd never heard of before ever.

Unknown Pleasures is superb (y) Substance is a decent compilation of releases elsewhere (which I mostly have anyway). Still not so much so IMO. Closer is no patch on UP but I liked it more than I expected last time I listened to it. Maybe that's just a nostalgia thing if it really is landfill...

Do you want Trump dead from the Virus?

guess I'll have to make do with him seeing himself lose over and over and over again everywhere, even if he denies it's actually happening

    Record of the Year 2020

I agree it's difficult. Their method is: We asked our contributors to nominate their top ten records, CDs, downloads and streams of the year, then we counted up the votes. I'm guessing the points are therefore 1=10, 2=9, 3=8, and so forth, which seems all very fair. The problem is that "fair"...

    Record of the Year 2020

The albums may all be good. But trying to pick the best records by committee, you just get a list of decent albums that everyone quite likes. That's always going to be a meh sort of list.

    Record of the Year 2020

Personally I like The Wire very much (and Oto as well). I just think their end of year lists are shit – inevitably so, because of how they're compiled.

    Record of the Year 2020

While I wouldn't knock any albums in particular, the resulting Wire list is always shit. It's a list of albums that several of their contributors put somewhere on an individual list for some reason or other. That always leads to a list of relative common denominator blandness that pleases no one...

    Keir Starmer

Oh, absolutely. But still... it's not the Home Office declaring long-term residents illegal immigrants and flying them out in the middle of the night.

    Keir Starmer

Serious criminals, deported by court order. Yes, there are problematic issues with that policy. But it's not the Home Office declaring long-term residents illegal immigrants and flying them out in the middle of the night.

    Keir Starmer

Fuck convention. It's time Sir Keith actually stood up for something. The useless triangulating centrist bastard.
