PJ Harvey's album received incredibly glowing reviews from critics, think she will win. her or Adele (who I cannot stand. think it's the contrived 'regular person' image).

from the list, my favourite was Katy B's album. along with Robyn's triple album last year, one of the best pop LPs of the last few years.

Solaris is one of my favourite films, I usually try to watch it once every month or two. That said, sometimes when I watch it, I do start nodding off - I suppose it depends on the mindset / how tired I am atm. ... Don't think it has been assigned 'classic' status (yet?), but I really did not...

tbh, I can't think of too many producers who stay anonymous in the way that Burial did. ok, SBTRKT wears a mask...so does Zomby (he's not p*st-dubstep, tho...is he?). who else, though? I think this is far more prevalent in techno and house - Redshape, the whole Horizontal Ground / Frozen Border...

Paul Hayward is a horrible, horrible writer, though. he just re-hashes the same trite shit about big clubs all the time. so do most of the others who champion The Best League In the World (Williams, the one who supports Everton, think there's one or two more). that said, the Fiver writers...

They had a pretty good year in 2010. Ewan Pearson's mix 'We Are Proud of Our Choices' Thomas Fehlmann's 'Gute Luft' LP Walls - s/t LP and the Superpitcher album had some nice moments, too.

the scene in the Wicker Man remake where Cage threatens an old woman with a gun so he can get her bike is amazing. as is the one with the bees. the man is a genius.
