    Trump

Nobody knows exactly what the "Trump regime" actually is, IMO there are two factions, one is the Trumpians who are possibly into this anti-establishment thing in some way believing their own propaganda that "the establishment" is some sort of that liberal behemoth consisting of Soros' sponsored...

    chomsky vs buckley

It's only imperialism if the US and/or Israel is being involved. Anything else is always about preserving peace or order or something.

    Millenials.

I grew up with it, starting with phone modems at 28.8 Kbit speeds back in '95. It became a bit shit tho only after widespread usage of social media coupled with smartphones really.

    Trump

Me neither. Trump is - astonishingly I might add - working his campaign promises point by point. In that respect, he is the most "honest" politician I have ever witnessed. David Frum is just pissed off, bc he isn't part of the "inner circle" this time. However, Bannon is the one to watch.

    Trump

The protest will die down quickly. I have seen this first hand in Austria in 2000. Right-far right coalition, government walked into the parliament on inauguration day in an undergound passage bc the big square in front of the parliament was full of protesters. Protesters had sworn to do a...

So far, he is keeping his promises (or make it appear that way at least) - as questionable as they are - which is surprising to me.

why is ambient so popular now

But to get back to the original question I have the impression people are not going out that much any more, so Ambient would be the natural choice of the homebody-massive?

    Middle Class Self Loathing

The populists are already hammering it to them: it's those on welfare, the jobless, the immigrants. Unfortunately, they seem to believe it in high numbers.

Never underestimate the fact the beauty industry is huge, and always on the outlook of opportunities for expansion.

    Trump

Sure enough, and there are people out there STILL believing the "anti-establishment" BS. Which is one of the sadest aspects of this farce.

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

Blade Runner is great. Not so much as a sci fi flick, bc at being sci fi it sucks a little. But it's pretty much the ultimate (early) 1980s movie in terms of style/aesthetics/clothing/make-up and especially music-wise. The synths. The fear of Japanese overtaking of the US economy. Very early 1980s.

    REWRITE the school CURRICULUM

Doesn't matter what's in the curriculum, main thing is, throw smart phones and tablets at the kids, the sooner the better.

    Trump

Trump is also an archetype of US popculture/folklore: The Con-Man Not revealing his tax declaration might reveal that the guy isn't that rich to begin with - which then would be his mother-of-all-lies.

    Trump

The Sean Spicer speech is also quite revealing, bc it tells another thing about populists, which is they have a considerable amount of support, but usually believe their support is overwhelming (believing their own lies/"alternative facts") and throw a fit if the reality doesn't live up to it.
