Depends where you live. Round here is ok but other parts of London it would be vastly trickier.

Already thinking of a couple of walks for the weekend. So important to get some fresh air and experience the weirdness of being out right now

My mate sent me this poem his 7 year old son wrote for him. It's in the acrostic form.

Still up at ten a.m - on a normal day this is probably the time I'm most dead to the world - and I'm sitting on the balcony having a fag and I am fucking amazed at how many people are out and about. Shocked in fact. I know that tonight they are (as I said earlier) blocking off all the roads between counties so that no-one can move from one borough to another, the idea is to stop people going to visit relatives in other towns and so on. Kinda crazy that they need to do that though right? Maybe these people are all planning to pre-empt that and go away today... or maybe it's like that every morning. My guess is the latter frankly.

That doesn't look very busy to me if I'm honest. You got to be careful Rich or you'll turn into one of them curtain twitchers

Well you've got two shops with long queues outside and nobody more than a metre apart, you've got a group of four people chatting to each other and blocking the pavement, you've got the building site with people working on it and so on... several other people just hanging about, others walking the dog. I guess the thing is, it's a small place, it's not normally as busy as that. Right now it's maybe even worse, I just counted thirty people doing various thing in front of our flat - and on top of that there are loads of cars going up and down and there is a cleaning lorry that has parked outside our flat with two guys in high-vis jackets who are cleaning the street with hoses and shit. I can't really complain about that of course... except that it is so fucking loud, it's that that's bugging me. I've never seen that before, I wonder if there was a diagnosis in the town or something... obviously that's pure speculation of course.

Well no curtains on the balcony obviously (in fact no curtains at all in that room cos it's got these totally fucking amazing electric shutters that go up and down when you press a button and which were literally the reason I bought this flat) but you'll be pleased to know it shouldn't be a problem much longer cos I've put in a few anonymous calls to the police. Hopefully that will sort things out.

Or, maybe it's just possible, that I'm kinda going mental and it just seems to be super busy cos I've completely adjusted to the new normal. Hmmm.

    yeah, I think that's it.

seriously, those photos are a best-case scenario here. empty for the most part, most people visible do have some distance between them, and then of course there are always a few people who don't follow the suggested guidelines. all in all, your area looks ok. go enjoy another glass of vino, chorico sausage, cig and try to relax.

Well I'm relaxed... maybe I'm over reacting here, but literally it's busier than normal here which can't be right.
To be clear - not sure that I was - I mean it's busier than a normal day before the lockdown, not just a normal day in the new world.

while it's always a little concerning to see people out, I think what you see outside is pretty good -- or at least, typical nowadays -- for a city environment.

OK, that's actually good to know cos in Lisbon it's way quieter than that in the main, and here it's way quieter than that most of the time. Although today I've seen the most activity from my balcony since lockdown. I truly reckon the roadblock thing tomorrow is having an effect - I mean it isn't going to make any difference to me whatsoever, but knowing that if, say, I had some kind of personal emergency over the weekend that meant I had to go to Lisbon or whatever, then I wouldn't be able to does have a kind of psychological effect on me.
But I'm not concerned as such about how it was today, it was just strange to see so many about and - something that doesn't come across in the photos - to hear such a buzz of conversation and noises from cars just below. Though really, I would have thought that inside a car ought to be a pretty safe place to be. The rules they are putting in place seem to lack a lot of consistency I think.

the city has buried anonymous and unclaimed bodies there for 150 years. there's been some news about the city potentially using it as a temporary burial ground but city hall says they haven't done so yet.
