    I really loved Candyman up until the Candyman appeared with his ridiculous voice.

    Same old story, really - the creeping dread outweighs the pontificating/slobbering monster.

    Actually, I shouldn't make such a claim in a thread about Hellraiser. Everybody knows the best scene is when the Cenobites turn up in the asylum.

    Candyman is great too. Really subtle, restrained even, and then shockingly brutal. Clever on race, class, gender - as I said, the best horror of the 90s.

    I remember liking the books of blood too. Read him because of the Coil connection. Apparently some of their fetish mags were partly the inspiration for Hellraiser.

    I saw the third Hellraiser at the cinema when it came out. Really not great. Wouldn’t mind seeing the first two again though.
