Yeah the Wetherspoons is good value for characters any time of day - the Jolly Butcher (now called Father Teds or Stokies or something) is good value for after hours stuff. Both are very high on local "character".
And full of people getting absolutely twatted.
And Jesus, what was it like her working in Fresh and Wild? Sounds pretty hellish.
No this was Mother Earth. Also an interesting clientele.
Yup. They guy I particularly liked was this black dude in a rather outre shiny suit, sunglasses and a pith helmet, who always seemed to be in there holding a bottle of white wine in a wine cooler. Really rocking the insane African dictator look. I tried to get a photo of him with my girlfriend and he was like "no pictures" and I felt a bit humbled.
menemem?

Ha, I'm sure I've seen that guy! Unless there are two, which seems unlikely.
The Tup is OK, nice bare wood inside (not in a pretentious way), couple of decent beers on, space upstairs which is used for stand-up sometimes, if that's your thing. I've not been there for years, mind.
duh-dur, duh dur-dur!
duh, duh-der duh!
