Beeb says this

North Korea coach Kim Jong Hun "What I know about Brazil is that it has some of the world's most famous players. But our players are very skilled. They don't lag behind any player in the world."
Soon find out I guess.

Can't decide whether I want the N Koreans to win or not. On one hand I naturally prefer the underdog, on the other hand if they did get a result it would give their loathsome government a huge propaganda coup. Or should I be leaving politics out of this?

I did have a wee cheer when the Koreans scored.

I gave Ronaldinho the benefit of the doubt in 02, and I'm giving Maicon the benefit of the doubt now. Also North Korea have one of the best defences in the World Cup, and if Robinho stops being such a moody get he could be one of the best players in the Premiership. Man City fans must be praying for this

heard off a pal who was brought up in Seoul before the game, he wrote "The other Korea, Good luck! Fighting!!"

Maicon is a legend.

Clive T did start to arse-lick Brazil a bit toward the end w some demonstrably false stuff about how only they can move it about like this.

our kid's a big City fan and txted me near FT to make some rather sour remark (i'll let you fill in the dots) about Robinho, Tottenham, and the pissing rain one recent December evening...

slovakia won't roll over against paraguay. denmark/cameroon/japan is by no means settled.

agreed, agreed.

i thought Simao coming on would give a Camoranesi like boost for Portugal, but not to be.
at least Sven got the Ivorians a little less cautious in the second half, pushing up a bit more.

TOMORROW

is when it gets interesting.

france - mexico. an attacking mexican team vs a backwards french team who need a result. a draw would mean both teams will be desperate for a win in the final match.

i'm sure any decent football magazine in yer newsagency would still be going, i don't know where people have got their wallcharts from, so many of my mates have got a freebie w a newspaper of their choice, others from some other publication or source, for instance i got my cheap and cheerful one from a bar that keeps freebies by the menus (!)

there's got to be a few of the monthlies (like i don't know World Soccer or WSC), that have them and are still in shops
