Let's Talk About Ceps
I've been talking to woops, who knows some worthwhile boozers around New Cross, and we concluded that it's high time somewhere outside the Dalston/Stokey/Hackney 'golden triangle' played host to a Dissensus pub trip. Especially now the old East London line has reopened as part of the Overground so now it's quite easy to get to (OK, maybe not from Harrow, but who the hell lives in Harrow?).

Likely venues include the Royal Albert (close to the station), the Hobgoblin, which I have vague memories of having been to years ago (no HG is going to be a 'cool' pub but they do some nice beers) and the Montague Arms which apparently has mad decor.

Mid-week suits me, starting around 6.30/7 I guess. If you're on your way over and want to check where we are, reach me on 07548 882 896. Though I may have to pass you to Ed/woops if you need directions.

See you there.

Ollie.

It's all grist
Don't think I can do any of those days (annoying cos my missus lives close) but there's an outside chance I could do Wednesday. I'd vote for the Montague Arms over the Hobgoblin. Insane decor and Sam Smiths beer served an impressively aged landlady.

OK, I've voted Wednesday on the offchance you can make it and because it seems the most obvious choice for a midweek livener.

The Sam Smiths pub sounds good, let's go for that unless anyone else has any blinding suggestions. Ed?

As much as I'm seduced by the phrase "midweek livener" I've just had a look at the travel/etc/etc logistics and it's just not happening really. Shame. If you do go to the Montague, see if you can pick up the presence of a young Jim Davidson walking the boards of that stage, because he used to apparently. That's my excuse for having shit gigs there anyway. Not good for one's mojo...

it's a great idea and Hackney folks can huddle together on the new train for protection I guess.

I won't be around next week though.

Considering going to the live blackdown thing Sat 5th June at the Albany in New Cross though?

Darned cockwombles.
Two questions:

Is the Montague still the place on Weds?

Is Durrty Goodz appearing at the Blackdown gig?

Coolcoolcool, it looks easy enough to get to - turn right out of New Cross Gate station onto New Cross Road, follow it as it becomes Queen's Road and the pub is door number 289. Er, for the benefit of anyone who didn't know already, which could just be me. :slanted:
