i've really liked all the threads you just bumped

does this count in terms of moombahton:

no that's bassy new cumbia. saw them between 3-5am at Fusion Festival a few weeks ago... a packed venue of 800 people all grooving... totally awesome.

unlike some or most "electro cumbia" today this group retains the bittersweet soul of the original Colombian styles, as well as the psychedelic tradition of their homeland... the songs feel like a lot of love has been put into them and they wear great masks they are actually playing in Berlin tonight, but i might miss it (as well as Cut Hands) because i have a mid summer cold

there is so much new cumbia these days but it's not my specialty, as i know so many people who specialize in it, i leave that territory for them.
there is probably loads of quality stuff i don't know about.

check La Chusma records, they release some dope shit
check Generation Bass blog, they've been doing a weekly cumbia roundup of soundclouds and what not for something like 10 years.
