Two things. First, any cunt can strap a camera and some actuators to a beetle and call it a cyberBee or iRoach or whatever. Second, it wasn't the end-product, the robot bee, that was the most exquisitely ingenious part, it was the way it's made and how there'll be machines in the future that will generate nothing less than beams of micromechanical machines.

The place where I've been working for about four months now has some experimental set-up involving microchips that assemble themselves. When I was shown this in one of the clean rooms I was like, uh guys, you have seen the Terminator films, right?

Sorry, was being indignant. It's a long video, the preview frame is not really representative of the incredibly clever pop-up fabrication method.
