I read a comment today that Russia has notably backed down from the nuclear threats they were making every five minutes a couple of years ago. Maybe the top brass is starting to face up to the fact that their zero-maintenance nuclear stockpile is a pile of hot garbage.

Whether they are or not, I don't think Putin is either suicidal or insane. He knows an actual first-use nuclear attack would be the end of Russia and the end of him.

He is. I am acquainted with the charges (plea bargains) against him. Idk if they are true or not. I do know that what he has said from the earliest days leading up to the invasion of Iraq were true.
That’s the way it’s done over here.
At least since the sixties.
Character assination is easier, cheaper and does the job as well. Chomsky was on The Epstein plane, as was Bernie Sanders.
Don’t make them pedophiles but put does put that touch of doubt in your brain doesn’t it?
If Ritter were a Russian spy. I’m pretty sure he’d be behind bars.
I’m not saying the guy is Jesus.
I would listen to him on matters of international military affairs the same way I’d listen to Woody Allen lecture about filmmaking. Doesn’t mean I’d hire/trust either as a babysitter

I didn't say he was a "Russian spy", but if he's working for RT, then he's unequivocally a Russian propagandist.

IDK why this is such a huge blind spot for so many people.

If someone takes a job at a network be it Al Gazera, MSNBC, FOX, BBC, RTE,..are they all unequivocally propagandists?
The man was a Marine headbuster for the intelligence apparatus. It’s not like he’s going to get a job, even in the private security industry after the honey-pot job they did on him.
If you are like me, you’re probably saying Feck him. But I was around when he was one of the sole voices condemning the administration calling out the fact that they were LYING theirs asses off, and was pretty successful at it.

The modern, Trumpist incarnation of the GOP is ideologically pretty different from the neocon version that existed in the days of Bush snr and jnr, no? In some ways they're diametrically opposed, at least in geopolitical terms. So it makes perfect sense for someone who was a strident critic of the Iraq War to be groomed by Russia to present an "anti-war" message to the world that's simply a cover for Russia's own belligerence and imperialism, doesn't it?

I agree 100% with the first 2/3rds of your post. That was the neocon MO. Particularly Cheney, Rumsfeld, and co.
Trump being a convicted felon it’s a whole new ball game, lol.

I respect Ritter for his knowledge (I was in the chemical corps.) and just by the way he was explaining the situation back then I (felt like I knew) he was being truthful.

I’ve watched a pretty fair amount of his analysis for years & I believe he has the respect of other dissenters. Chris Hedges worked for RT too btw when he was shut out of ‘mainstream’ (paying) media too.
John Meirshiemer, and Ray McGovern both share his opinions for the most part.

I haven’t read/seen everything the man has said but when I have heard him criticize Putin & Russia it sounds very much like his peers.
Not the ‘Putin is the devil incarnate’ you see constantly on Main stream corporate media,
But real and cogent criticism nevertheless.

Mearsheimer's another one who's been arguing Putin's case for years. I'm never quite sure with these people whether they're on a payroll (although if Ritter is/was employed by RT then I guess he must be) or if they actually have ideological support for a dictator who'd quite happily vaporize them in the blink of an eye if he thought he could get away with it.

Mearsheimer has been sounding the this was almost inevitable since the orange coup/revolution. He writes for Foriegn Affairs and except for zionists both Christian & Jewish, has an unimpeachable record.
