watched sky news this morning. the protests look like people are really enjoying them. enjoying the disorder. some kind of release of some kind of energy going on. kind of that festival spirit, in the sense of the normal rules no longer applying.
That seems a core quality of riotous rebellions though, from the marginal petty to the grand scale historic ones. That drunk 13 year old thrill of smashing up a bus stop with your mates. Mania goonery revelry abandon, running with the wolves.

Look, there are only 2 types of modern riot: riots by the oppressed class, which are the authentic expression of a legitimate grievance; and those by the oppressor class, which are the opposite.

White people are the oppressor class so these riots are the inauthentic expression of an illegitimate grievance. Well done to those who have already spotted this.

i would not have thought the pogroms would start in england, i'd have thought france or germany first.

i agree with biscuits in as much as if anyone has got a right to riot its these lot they're totally fucked. they literally dont have teeth. their teeth fall out and they cant afford to do anything about it. they live in places (cities, towns, estates, homes) which have been allowed to rot. k-punk always said that immigration is used as a weapon against these people specifically. theyre faces are crumbling. theyre mocked and demonised in the media. theyre the scum of the earth. total outcasts with nothing to lose.

you cant really be a cheerleader for race riots though. somethings gone wrong in your head if you find yourself cheering for pogroms. we're definitely firmly in the backlash phase of multiculturalism though.

I don't think they want people expelled (maybe apart from current asylum seekers), rather than immigration restricted drastically going forward. If Starmer offered that the riots would stop.

Labour will not want to be known as the party that clamped down on immigration, not least as the left is anti-nationalist and is enjoying the country's fragmentation into an international pot pourri. A copycat Southport event would tip the country into complete chaos so hopefully that won't happen. Starmer will fail to make any headway in giving arrivals and native folk equal treatment let alone privileging the latter, so Labour will be out within 2 years. Tories will come in, roll out necessary national ID cards which you'll have to carry everywhere as is de rigeur in many other countries., and there will be a snap census.

I guess the main reason why protestors are called far-right wherever even slightly plausible is because the Nudge Unit has told government that's the best way to prevent others from identifying with the protestors and joining in. The other advantage is that Starmer, for instance, can just wrap up whatever the protestors' demands are with the far-right tag and ignore them - and if other parties complain he can smear them with the far-right label. We'll probably end up getting bogged down in these dirty tactics rather than making any change of substance.

I guess when the establishment calls your protest 'far-anything' then that means your demands are dead in the water. You can try to make it a peaceful protest but if they don't like it they'll make sure something violent happens and fix it with media lackeys to present it as extremism.

Let's see you take the same approach when protesters besiege a synagogue instead of a mosque, eh?
