Acid Techno

clicked on the first track to pitch it down by the usual YT quarter % to -0.75 but behold a pitch adjustment feature has been enhanced, havent seen the feature before

ie I can get this down to about 122/123bpm on a browser and immediately opens up more

what’s the take on acid tekno/techno and tempo, are there any rules?

feel like the area between 90-105 bpm is unexplored. this comes close, but it's more balearic chug than acid proper. great choon though, reminds me of old oscar g and ralph falcon dubs.

I know I'm massively derailing but this is another one I've had great success pitching down. 91 hardcore when house, techno and breakbeat were still joined at the hip. Bizarre inc's best/most underrated.

Tempo makes a huge difference. The slower speeds leave less room for filler and more room for your ears to explore creative processes

Tempo has always been the fail bridge I could never cross within this genre’s loose strata of sounds, a distraction, eg the kick slowed down appears full of heft and relentless swing in your last few posts @thirdform but you can’t stumble on such compression by chance as a producer - a listener might be able to join the dots more fully and provide a ‘snooker break’ approach to long-form mix progressions

hmmm, I always tend to internally listen at half speed by default, which is why tempo has never bothered me even in 4 to the floor musics. What bothered me about post-2000 breakcore (paging @dilbert1 ) is the lack of negative space. It's why I've never really liked punk rock musics either, even when they are influenced by reggae, the attempt always comes across as if one is neurotically making love to an indistinct specimen of frigidity. Hence, paradoxically, the less punk sounds like rock, the better it is.

just fucked a lengthy post

half step, jungle, dance, snares, something compared to windmilling super fast

not that music should ever pass a drugs test yet last genre I’d ever want to hear deep in an acid space

slowed down = all ears, crunchier the better
