Discovered this tune though which I think is very acid-friendly, or at least is to me in an acid mindframe

Reminds me of SAW 85 - 92. That drifting, lazy, summer evening thing. Sounds like heading home across fields as the sun sets. Weird to think of it as an American production when that sound's so heavily associated with the UK for me. Did he make it specifically for Warp?

I watched Do The Right Thing the other night and have had this chorus popping into my head over and over since then,

Sadly not. I did go on a mostly lads holiday to Manchester last weekend. There was nothing to do but go to bars and sit in the air BnB.

It was fairly light on the drug front (a lot of mushroom drops and cocaine) but I felt like I'd been to Glastonbury festival for most of the week. I'm fucking old and my body is fucked. Feeling like shit all the time, physically. (And on the mental side I'm trying not to feel nihilistic and bored about everything but some days I do and the other day I started reading some Schopenhauer and found it really addictive which perhaps shows how miserable I generally am... Hoping exercise will help here, failing that therapy... It's not good to feel like life is futile, which is my current suspicion.)

Currently 12stone 8lbs. I'm not allowed to get a cat until I lose a stone. The madness must end. But not without a fight.

because everyone else on here is autistic i think they are insulated from outside influences but for me and you this nihilism and boredom and massive weight gain is the inevitable insidious result of the life we've had to live over the last 18 months or whatever it is. it wont end we will just lose another set of freedoms and our lives will have been drastically diminished. every knows and accepts this by now hence the nihilism and the beer gut.

exercise and sport really is a good way to get yourself out of a negative vicious circle, try it. it will make you look better, give you more confidence, then you'll get the cat, the presence of the cat will lower your heart rate, will calm you down. soon your face will look serene and satisfied and this will attract positive energy.

nah, no orgies, no sex. i think i'm getting old as well. turned hypochondriac, used to love drinking beers and smoking fags and taking drugs. now all i can think about is heart failures and cancer. i got into a fight with my flatmate who went psycho, so i had to escape my flat. i found something new now, but i miss my old neighborhood a lot. i need to find new routines, new rhythms. quit my job. start something new.

I agree, at the moment doing as much sport as I can and we have two cats and they make me happy. Mainly.

This is a Proustian madeleine of a choon for me cos it takes me back to the summer of 2005(?) when I was working at a one man call centre for a korean car company in my local market town and Radio 1 was playing it a lot. At the time I was hopelessly, distantly infatuated with a girl from my halls of residence who I now only think about when listening to this song (so about 5 times a week). What's really not funny at all is that this song, which some might describe as utterly banal daytime radio playlist fodder, prodded me in the pain points and made me almost weep with desolation as the phone rang and I was forced to organise yet another test drive.
