good point, third. and not all that stuff is great, some just interesting but not worth repeat listens. for as much as I detest the word, there is something to be said about low's curation. most things are at least interesting.

i just listened to their podcast, cant say i liked much of the tiunes, but might try another, but all those people i've been playing this morning, they're really good

They've always eluded me. You'd get these drooling Boomkat reviews pulling in Source Direct and stuff then you'd listen and it'd be some plodding, post-rock dirge. They seem to have all the 'right' reference points, but nothing comes of it.

I mean aesthetically yes. individuals of course aren't a class only economically but idgaf about that. like I'm not gonna sit around analysing Klein or Dean Blunt's tax bracket and then slot them into prole/bourgeois, that's not how that works and is against everything i stand in regards to universalism. for me a class is only really a class when it is a dynamic movement in society struggling against the old fetters on the productive forces or trying to preserve the current structure.

It's like when some people said oh those boys from st albans ruined jungle, what a ludacrously reactionary proposition.

that being said the middle class not being the ruling class does mean that collectively they engage in self-obsessed cringe guilt complexes (see Orhan Pamuk's novels for instance.)

again though, Senking is better than Raime.

there's a real aversion from Anglo music fans in this country to look beyond this small island. heaven forbid a German could make gnarly dnb or abstract bassweight music without being directly tied to the hardcore continuum. My crew who used to be involved in the colony nights in London booked him to play and it was great.

I expect blissblogger to go into a maoist self-criticism session about his musical patriotism in the 90s. proto David Lammy that Si.

agree about raime. always felt they were all about sound design, "tooth" sounds pretty great on headphones but a bit of a one-trick pony. version is right, they are one of those boomkat darlings who never live up to the hype.
