Apparently the sudden rise in cases all caused by the same variant may have been by symptomatic ppl in labs shedding virus all over the samples.

The variant is spread over many countries and many regions within the UK. In the UK, it had contributed little over 1000 identified pos tests since September before unaccountably rocketing to prominence.

As I think I said earlier, doesn't make sense that a strain which is supposedly so contagious be so uncontagious over a long period.

This explains why many foreign scientists were surprised by the UK's assessment, which didn't tally with their own.
