Well, based on my understanding of what we're talking about, I would position that kind of learning within the larger effort of constantly channelling the more robust experiential energies (phenomenal sensitization).
How it specifically applies to reading, I still feel the seemingly immature drive to be done with the text, to have gotten through it, and this drive seems to fruitlessly come at the cost of appreciating the text.
Decelerate the currents, in the interest of more comfortably wading or floating in the water, immersion, letting it more thoroughly transform you. Carried by the natural currents, rather than grip-marching your way downstream.
But the usual issue crops up here too, no? Namely the tendency, in trying to force an exit from a suboptimal energy, for said energy to persist.
