it's hard to say exactly why all these old men that get to vote for the leader prefer her to rishi sunak, and i don't think there's much public focus group data so you just have to speculate, but watching a couple of the debates its totally obvious to me that she comes across as way more likable. she could easily be a friend of your mum or someone that you work in an office with, whereas sunak comes across as some kind of weird politics alien - very similar to ed milliband in lots of ways i think

There's that, but there's also the fact that he and his wife between them are worth the best part of a billion quid, and even the most braindead motherfucker might be starting to get a hint of an inkling that such people aren't really on their side.
Although, apparently, not enough of a hint of an inkling not to vote for the fucking Tory party.

The casual observer might think that the UN was basically completely powerless, given all the good it's managed to do the world in the last 20 years. But then again, maybe that's just what they want you to think...

if governments are dysfunctional (which they often are), the UN is government on steroids, dysfunction x 10. they do some good in the world, but they are largely ineffectual, generally ignored by state bad actors, have little/no global authority, and are essentially unaccountable. who's holding their feet to the fire when they don't meet a goal?

Unless there've been loads of plots that were foiled, but that usually makes the news, too. So probably not even that.
