Just remembered - I went to Reunion Island once, people were very beautiful. Someone explained that it was because of the crazy complex ethnicity of the people there. It's in the middle of the Indian ocean, was on the spice route, French colony, etc, so for centuries sailors, pirates, slave ships, traders etc docked there and made babies with sexy Frenchies.

broader genetic diversity = broader immune system profiles

loads of studies on attraction and mixed race profiles but too racially reductive and again misses the obvious points above, not that Reunion Islanders aren’t stunning or owt

more fully realised picture is human dna seeking breeding matches with genetically diverse populations, unless it’s Gloucester - every population group outside of Africa lessens in genetic/immune system diversity as every population group is a migratory subset of African descent

you’d think Britain as an island would be genetically diverse but our inheritance is essentially comprised of maybe 6-8 migration patterns at scale and nearly all are migratory subsets - western hunter-gatherers, Anatolian farmers, Black-Sea steppe-herders, Spanish-Gaulish-Germanic “celts” (define celts = exactly), Roman Empire’s emigres, Anglo-Saxons, Norse, Norman, Huguenots, New World/slave trade

i'd like to know more about this. my mate said the other day that L'Oreal's advertisers recently changed the average aspirational skin tone that they use, interesting
