there's a really great one from 92, skittering ragga dub abstraction, but it's just called pow pow and numbered. let me attempt to find it.

let's hear Oblique's favourite '92 uk breakbeat stylee ones. there must be.

I just noticed as I was getting ready to post this that you said UK.
but please accept my submission:

I'll have to think on it further.
But please consider that it's not something that I devoted time to keeping up with artists and labels because the way a lot of that stuff came over here was through mass market CD compilations that I generally avoided (although I knew some people or dated people that did buy 'em), and since I was virtually the only person I knew in my mid-sized southern city that was _really_ into (electronic) dance music before I started getting other people into it (like a friend that also started collecting stuff like the atom heart track I posted above), I had no way of knowing names of stuff that I would hear out at the odd rave (if and when there were DJs playing that style) and I wasn't exactly rolling in the cash to pick up unknown (to me) 12"s at the one store that stocked a lot of the stuff.

I'll put it this way, you know what I like the most so you probably know my favorite 92 UK breakbeat better than I do :ROFLMAO:

Mad Ragga Jon - Original Bad Boy

maybe too cartoony for oblique but fond memories of listening to this in class when I should have been working. earbud up the shirt sleeve.

From around 5'10" when it goes into auto fidget head nod mode is incredible.

On reflection, this might be IT for me. Does everything a hardcore track should do. Perfection.

Heard everywhere but only within less rigorous listening circles, I don’t even like it - not intense enough for acid and too laidback to kick but it was ubiquitous in 92

I think it works at -12. I think. its been years since I tried it though. at its original speed its pretty inert though, you're right. Also not very funky compared to the main cologne acid possee.
