Corpsey
bandz ahoy
I just wanted to post this somewhere, and already did a COTD.
Public Image - Radio 4
I've been listening to a bunch of 70s music atm, inspired by reading various 70s rock critics (Lester bangs, nick Kent, Ian MacDonald) — oh, and Woebot's 'Book of Woe'! — and Bangs exhorted me to listen to 'Metal Box', so I did. I've never liked the Public Image Ltd that I'd heard, which evidently hadn't included this, which instantly made me sit up (MMSU). I think having grown to appreciate CAN helped prep me for it. Also its relatively low on Lydon screeching like a banshee.
Anyway, THIS track REALLY MMSU — Bangs describes it as 'Eno-ish' so maybe that explains it, but I was amazed that John Lydon had been involved in making something like this, a haunting synth piece that sounds 'cold' in all the best ways.
Submit your own, as and when. (But please if possible write something to accompany it and explain what MYSU is.
