59. Dub War, Murderous Style
One of the best sounding tunes I’ve ever heard, up there with the snd thing from earlier in terms of there not being an element out of place.
This list is proper good, I really feel I need to take a day off work just to absorb it
80. Miles Davis, Go Ahead John
The fucking guitar solo!
(6:36)
I used to exercise to this as I dislike anything with a regular rhythm which puts me off my own.
90. Sixpence None The Richer, Kiss Me
She's All That. The moment Laney comes down the stairs.
The late-90s American romcom's something of a guilty pleasure of mine. It's difficult to tell how much of it's nostalgia and how much of it's just me being a bit of a sap, but I do genuinely enjoy a fair few of them. It's part of the package of American culture my generation were sold - along with nu-metal, basketball, hip-hop, wrestling and skating - which made England, and particularly school in England - they get to wear their own clothes every day!? - even less appealing than it already was.
22. Walter Becker, Down in the Bottom
This is a tune I feel I should hate just from looking at how he’s dressed on the cover, but I don’t. I really don’t. Admittedly the snare’s far too intrusive, particularly for a member of a band regularly praised for the quality of their sound, but other than that… The only downside is it makes me feel like a middle-aged man who tucks his shirt into his trousers.
24. snd, tplay 1
I like a lot of Mark Fell’s stuff, but this one (with Mat Steel) takes the cake. One of the earlier tunes before they really started breaking apart house and garage. As far as I’m concerned, it could go on forever. Immaculate. Also one of the few people to play an entire Boiler Room set wearing a rucksack.
yeah that's the top revelation of this thread.'off the streets of saginaw' is great thouh
