The only Dillinja tune I really like is one of the mixes of Deadly Deep Subs. He's too clattering and stop-start.

One of the best sounding tunes I’ve ever heard, up there with the snd thing from earlier in terms of there not being an element out of place.

I'd say it's more garage than dubstep, but it's in that liminal space between the two. It's Benny Ill from Horsepower and some other guy.

60. David Bowie, Fame

This one's now permanently twinned with images of Matt Dillon murdering people and cartoon lambs bouncing in sync after hearing it in the trailer for von Trier's The House That Jack Built, but it's another I first heard in a skate vid: the Chocolate montage from Girl's Yeah Right! in 2003. I didn't actually like it straight away, but it grew on me over the years.

Stumbled across this a year or so ago and it crept up on me until I suddenly realised I was listening over and over. I've heard the original, but it didn't make as much of an impression and just doesn't sound right after hearing this one.

62. Beastie Boys, Root Down

I've a soft spot for the Beasties. There's something fun and good natured about them I can't help but enjoy. I think it was someone on here who said they're music for people who still like cartoons and snacks and I know what they mean, but it doesn't bother me too much. I like that they expanded into film, Grand Royal and all that too. I appreciate that sort of ambition coupled with how goofy and unambitious they appear.

Anyway, that bassline...
