Trawling folders this morning in peace
2 separate nights where the 2nd show is makes gesture of something descending from the skies. It’s a mescaline show and you can hear it. Cold, Rain and Snow opens and they open the valve all the way up. Tight, focused, with a slinky rhythm guitar style I haven’t heard in any other show - Bob Weird can usually botch his slide pieces by not intuiting he’s over-playing, not hear
You get the musicianship of ‘77 morphed into a uniquely warm yet sliding embrace and I don’t think they hit this level of performance so readily afterwards (see heroin and fuck knows what else)
