I absolutely love this stuff. It's my favourite music in years.
For a while I'd been feeling like I was scratching around a bit with music. You know like you're still finding new things you enjoy but it's a real effort with many dead ends and long nights scrolling.
But then something like this comes along and everything opens up again. Suddenly, there's more great new music than you could ever hear and you're just freewheeling downhill for months . A friend says these moments are like that old computer game Minesweeper, those magic moments where you click one tile and the whole board opens up in an instant
A small thing but I really like how in many of the live recordings from raves like House of Silk they have a time stamp, like saying it's from 5am - 6am at a particular rave or whatever. Perfect for the vicarious raver.
agree with all this
this was in the mak 10 mix already posted, but it's on track to be one of my most listened to this year
Marcus Damon also deserves more of a shout in here
production levels on the new drmzu release are very high, the kaang track is so good. really intrigued to know what the drmzu guys were making before they started that label, cuz you don't just come out with rhythms like this from the off. maybe soulful house

Antony Ranz is worth a follow on IG for his live sessions, does at least one every weekend, always good vibes. mixture of afrohouse, uk amapiano, proto-funky, sometimes a bit of tech house

Antonio Pascal had a solid 200-300 viewers on his video livestream on Mixcloud on Saturday night, before he ended the stream to go work a nightshift. worth following for weekends in. it looked like one of the highest watched on Mixcloud at the time, definitely highest without any corporate or events company sponsorship

slightly unrelated from the Ldn focus of the thread but a bit of amapiano features on shows I've casually checked on The Lot Radio recently, basically the NTS of New York, and in other sets here and there. noticed this amapiano bandcamp release by a New York producer. none of the tracks really stood out but i can see there being a small crossover in New York if this gets picked up more there, black Atlantic in effect. i don't know much about NYC but it doesn't seem like there's the same size of underground house scene there as Ldn, so will be interesting to see who runs with it.
