I've been thinking how inadequate the internet makes you feel

I've seen about fifty clips on Instagram today of 15 year olds doing skateboard tricks, or snowboarding, or playing an instrument, or jumping off a skyscraper or what have you, or drawing better than I ever could

And it makes you think wow the human race is doing amazing shit and also I can't do any of these things and will never learn to now

So typical upbeat thoughts! 😃

at the start of the internet there were massive empty spaces to fill up - like arabic music was barely represented, in fact any sort of content in arabic language
& then for a long while it felt like whatever clever stuff you could think of to put up online, if you search it up you will find that, by the power of synchronicity and spontaneous inspiration, someone was already working on it
then for some time i felt like whatever clever thing you could do would have already been done better and probably was already a fully financed startup pulling in cash
but now it feels like that is all total shit and actually there is a lot of space for inspiration and we are on teh cusp of understanding this nonsense as good as or better than say ben lerner ffs

Yeah I always mention how Reynolds had the only online stuff on jungle in the 90s, that's how I discovered him. It was a desert. Then a flowering, then a dying back. Now it's a total vicious wasteland. No personal projects.
