just imagine how much craig david hates that bo selecta guy

He really does, he said it ruined his career! And he couldn't understand why he was being picked on. It was sort of sad, in a way, but then you have to remember his bullshit when he was riding high with '7 Days' and all that garbage. The Paul Gambaccini takeover.

i'm friends with a wire journalist on face book and there was a recent post about how Rodney Jerkins loved UK 2 step and wanted to make Destiny's Child a 2 step sound which resulted in a Craner-baiting thread of mockery

the Tasmin Archer one is a weird one because on one hand: it's a really odd song with an organ solo and it's about humanity's restlessness after starting to explore outer space, which is a really weird subject for a number one single

but then it's basically the template for Radio 2, isn't it, the sound of buskers strumming chords over some digital string pads and serious emoting

the Bo Selecta thing always coded to me as racism, it was very much about Craig David being told that he should know his place and not take himself too seriously, and the fact that the other big impersonation from that show was Mel B says a lot about how the joke was being received, even if David's star was already on the wane by the point the parodies came out

names redacted

Nobody woulda been sayin' her name after hearing that.

We would have been talking about "Remember Destiny's Child? That whats-her-name could really sing. Damn I miss late 90s music"

No fucking no! I feel like this must have been made after the one we know. Fuckin' up Beyonce's voice. (with reference to a remix)

Mel B (or, G, as she was known at this point) doing "Word Up" as a Timabland production, half-expecting her to launch into an 'Ey Oop, Fellers! moment

I actually 100% agree with this.

Dean blunt: "Craig David is the original Drake. Everything about him. The mixed-race thing; he's not sure if he can be gangsta enough, he's quite a nice boy, but then he gets popular and he gets really arrogant, and starts to believe he's this thing that he's not. It's amazing."
