you can end that debate friend, thats a synth, that trill at 2.49, its a gliding mono synth.

Has anyone posted any jungle with flutes? And, follow up question, is there any jungle with flutes?

jungle seemed to have no interest in flute loops, too wistfully pastoral or something. Rap can utilize that connotation in a way that the jungle rave impulse couldnt.

There was a hidden agenda tune called flute loop but it was functionally useless as a jungle tune. it was part of that metalheadz slide into graphic designer coffee table dj shadow zone. i don't hate that zone but it neutered jungle

Timbalands flute loops really get stuck in my head and swirl around for ages afterwards. It's like being snake charmed o_O

this isnt even a flute just a square wave but i think itsy notable how the closely the grime square monolead maps onto the form and function of the flute, and fully how grime embraced a virtualization of that instrument type and held it centrally to its core



actually Ruff Squad "Pied Piper" is a better example, especially as the square is an octave lower than the flute register, still the title fully celebrates how the sound fulfills the wind instrument archetype

Yeah theres tons of borderline examples in grime. The chirrupy synth in this sounds like a flute to me
