there are probably some grains of truth somewhere in what he says, but it is an absolutely useless way to think about the world, and probably almost entirely inaccurate. what a dispiriting thing to listen to, especially if you're in a rut anyway. i always wonder about this kind of thing, how permeneant it is, how quickly people will collectively recognise it as bullshit
