Its mad they included that Richard Thompson and not Fairport Convention liege and leaf which is a masterpiece.

This is a great song though

I've heard exactly four of these in full. Two by active listening and two by passively hearing them via my parents. I think I'm very lucky that my parents were young and spent the 90s going to raves and gigs instead of drowning in boring heritage music

Which four? Did you like?

There's some I like very very much. Joni Mitchell Blue. The Miles stuff. Talk Talk. Astral Weeks. Blood on the Tracks.

Revolver - a loan from a friend, absolutely guff
Closer - excellent but sullied having read Deborah Curtis' book
Blue Lines - good but having discovered similar music from the era lately (Smith & Mighty etc) now aware that it's a bit over-rated
Automatic For The People - hit a nerve in my teens but it feels like it's designed to be outgrown

I've always meant to get around to Spirit Of Eden and Nevermind but there's so much music in the world that actively excites me in this decade alone

Laughing stock and the solo album are incredible too. The sort of thing you put on maybe once a year and give it a proper listen.

I prefer Laughing Stock probably although I basically consider the two as four sides of a double album

Let's listen to Big Star. What were they about? Song called Holocaust. Promising.
