this is texturally very immaculate but is this not just vamping on pentatonic?

it's funny how much this rhythmically approximates what it is i'm going for. it's texturally very tame - clean guitar, midrange cotton candy pads and strings, slap bass samples, restrained drum hits. but there's something uneasy about its harmony and it has a loping stop and start gait. the sub bass on the kick glues the entire thing together.
^this is maybe an example of when moves of evasion are tactical and not cowardly. sidestepping, not retreat altogether
