Definitely, but in the interest of avoiding redundant creation, that is, redundant in the eyes of the collective. That, in addition to just appreciating what has already been created.

If I am striving to encapsulate and communicate insight via paradigms and diagrams, which I expect others to find value in, I would be arrogant to assume that the paradigms and diagrams that already exist contain nothing of value for me, nothing for me to inherit and to pass on. Of course, I have no shortage of arrogance at this stage of things.

But I think ultimately that I'm better suited to explore, rather than refining the findings of prior explorers. Others may feel better suited for the latter

But yeah the scientistic work really isn't creative insofar as it involves deferring your judgement/agency to prior findings, which is necessary to a degree to build a discourse, but it seems like too many scientists cower inside this way of thinking, unwilling to venture into less charted territory.

edit: then again I'm sure much of it has to do with professional bureaucracy and grants and the risk-averseness thereof.

i was thinking smash up a whole head of garlic and mix it with a slab of butter then coat a sliced baggette with it. i want
it to taste like the eighties garlic bread of my childhood. but more so.

i took the rest of that substandard garlic bread and added loads of butter and raw garlic then put it on the oven and it was really good.
