What fruit?@suspended done any grafts? Apple trees are solid for this technique
I could wax on for days about growing hydroponics but that was all some time ago, before feminised seeds and Cali strains
Cannabis is robust with cuttings. Someone I know kept a strain going for 6 years just from cuttings (no F1 alpha female needed). All the literature said they would downsize and hermaphroditism would kick in (which it did), but by selecting the more sturdy samples it kept on giving incredible flower. Now they’d all get daft names for marketing
Our best legal performers are dahlias, delphiniums, chrysanthemums, gladioli and various roses for borders. Repurposed a veg patch. Loads of fruit this summer, Mrs M does all our pickles and jams. Fuck it, save money every step
Cranberries! They grow wild here. They're one of the only fruits that haven't been bred (the slow way) or genetically modified (the fast way) to all hell. American Indian crop. The first (non-indigenous) American farms were just gathering efforts of wild crop, back in the early 20th C. Largely run by Central & Northern European immigrants. There are only a small handful of varieties, like Ben Lear, and they're (IIRC) all either first-generation discovered, or second (e.g. hybrid of first-gen). I'll text my neighbor to get confirmation on these facts.

@WashYourHands Thanks for the info, very helpful. I have yet to try a gooseberry. Remind me what part of the Isles you're on? City? Country? Suburb?
