Pervy Betty Boo vibes
I got the impression that the Flaming Lips sort of groomed her into doing all this weird hypersexualised arty stuff after she came out of the mainstream pop scene obviously very fucked up and vulnerable from it all. Wayne Coyne is a notorious creep as well so the whole thing was really disgusting to see. (Don't know the full story though)the miley cyrus album that 'bb talk' is on has this cover:
its like she's a little kid messing around with glitter and glue at playtime but obviously it's insanely hypersexualised too. very weird

I think that was me who mentioned that in the tiktok thread - don't ever make the mistake of putting the word 'tiktok' into YouTube's search engine is my advice. Wow, Katy Perry’s got some edgy, “wake up to the truth” commentary going on. It’s like she’s on our side now! A truther! Well, not really. What is basically happening is that the entire “truther” viewpoint is being co-opted by mass media to sell the elite’s agenda.
illuminati aside, part of this I see as a generational thing that's kind of expected. you take a pornified generation of kids raised from birth with access to anything and everything on the internet. then coming of age in a terrifying image-focused world without much sense of hope for their (or anyones) futures in the long-term. they want to return to their early childhoods as soon as they reach puberty.
this reminds me of an exciting new field within academia: cute studies
has Gwen Stanfani been mentioned yet? I would have thought that whole Harajuku Girls thing is related to the "loli pop" aesthetic
Then there's Charlie and the chocolate factory and Alice in Wonderland that are bright and colourful and disneyfied I think in that sinister way.
