Twista is another one to add to the list of technically gifted rappers who i would do anything to avoid listening to

Ruined so many half decent tunes by just going double time for no reason for about three minutes, and usually in the middle of a track as well so you cant even line up another tune to mix in after two verses and get rid of the prick

Possibly true, but so many classic tunes have been made with rudimentary skills e.g. Pulse X (obvious example is obvious).

I like Twista but i can agree he's best in short bursts like Big Pun, unlike alot of white guys who rap really fast cause they think that's the height of technical skill, Twista's brings a sense of melody and control to his rapping and he can actually slow his flow down if the track calls for it

his rapping style makes sense when you know that he was rapping over house before he went to rap not only that but he said in an old Combat Jack interview that he was really into rhythmic patterns so when he was coming up with raps he'd recite them slow at first and do em faster and faster through practise.

For artists perhaps but if you want to be some sort of curator, or theorist or critic...

one would think that little skill used tastefully is what we could use more of, but then it would seem that entire UK creative education is based on that assumption
