he didnt make a classic album which might hurt him. but he was clearly one of the greatest rappers of the last 25 years. as technically brilliant as eminem, funny, raw, able to make club tracks as well as hardcore bangers, what more do people want? i suppose the fact hes latino means few are going to rank him right up there. if he had come out just a few years earlier, he might have made an indisputibly brilliant debut. but cos he came out in the late 90s he made one of those bit of everything type albums, but even then, that first one is as good as anything of that period.
