here it is Jean Carn's voice which carries the melody. But what a superlative attuned voice it is, Mariah could not do this, as much as I like her.

I disagree. It's a parody of the real purpose of acid. There's no subconscious body coercion, a total foresaking of what made acid the most significant innovation after the delta blues. Not to say that invalidates it, but it's totally parodic. even Woops can acknowledge that

Yeah I think I know what you mean. It doesn’t sound like it’s sequenced on a 303, at least jot solely

tell us what you’re looking for third is it an economy of melody, expedience and purity. You wouldn’t use concepts like catchy or earworm

A lot of purely rhythmic music can be catchy. Being above it has got nothing to do with it. EG Joey Beltram. Very catchy, superb dissonance, orgasmic occult powers, but not melodic. cyclic repetition rather than ascent and descent.

the real power of dance music is its got no climax and no resolution, no return. It's pure orbitals in motion. In this sense it's all trance, and why trance the genre in some senses can said to be the death of dance music, because drug triggers were consciously produced rather than being encoded into the limitations of tech/social mixing etc.
