one of the best rap albums I've listened to. album is full of stories of growing up in the urban hellscape that is central California. first one is pretty depressing fair warning
damn Fashawn ain't heard hide nor hair from this breh from when he said he got guns as big as Theopihlus London's lips on the Step Brothers album

Corpsey

bandz ahoy

Right across from where I'm standing
On the dance floor she was landing
It was clear that she was from another time
Like some baby Barbarella
With the stars as her umbrella
She asked me if I'd like to magnetise
Do I have to go star-trekking
'Cause it's you I should be checking
So she laser beamed me with her cosmic eyes

Tale as old as time

On the dance floor she was landing
It was clear that she was from another time
Like some baby Barbarella
With the stars as her umbrella
She asked me if I'd like to magnetise
Do I have to go star-trekking
'Cause it's you I should be checking

Why are you doing this Corpsey?

It's way better
That's a good version but I can't agree. Here is the definitive version.

The minimalist arrangement of just guitar and those exquisite strings, plus Bobbie's cracked voice capture the small town drama of the story better I reckon.

The thing that kills me about this song is how she's sitting there biting her tongue at the kitchen table listening to her parents talk so blithely about her dead boyfriend - "Never had a lick of sense. Pass the biscuits."
And wtf did they throw off the bridge? Was it their baby?
