Yeah, to the point where people have referred to the character as autistic. He barely speaks throughout the film. He just drives around and explodes into violence from time to time. The film itself isn't affectless though. It's quite moving in places.

that's obviously not a serious question but there is that quality to ryan g's performance, the nonchalant violence of the gangsters, even the plastic, artificial quality of some of the music which i nevertheless really enjoy

even so this is done with a very artificial touch of melodrama though, consider the female lead, she reminds me of the imaginary love interest in Joker, too good to be true
