Yeah I do think there is some degree of truth that is lost as we have more time to intellectually refine our opinions.It's tricky to really nail it down, in some ways it's more telling to get people's off the cuff ideas of what makes something great, before they get self conscious and try and be clever
While avoiding something some general and abstract it's not saying anything any moreYeah I think thats one of the central tasks of philosophy: generalizing in ways that involve the minimal crumbling of particular truths, ideally with minimal use of arcane language (but we can all appreciate how hard that is).
